Xinhuanet Washington, August 20th (Reporter Yang Qingchuan, Wang Wei) According to a report on the Washington post website on the 20th, although Obama, who has been firmly nominated for the US Democratic presidential nomination, has kept his mouth shut about the deputy candidate, Biden, a senator from Delaware and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has been considered as a popular candidate.
According to reports, Obama’s aides and the backbone of the Democratic Party believe that Biden can make up for Obama’s lack of political and diplomatic experience and insufficient counterattack against his opponents in the election of Obama’s potential deputy.
Biden, 65, was elected to the Senate for the first time in 1972 and has been re-elected to this day. He participated in this year’s Democratic presidential primary, but announced his withdrawal after the first primary. Public opinion believes that although Obama may not choose Biden as his deputy in the end, Biden’s voice in the party is growing, reflecting the general concern of Obama’s main weakness in the Democratic Party.
According to the American media, the possible candidates for Obama’s deputy include Virginia Governor Cain, Indiana Senator Behe and Kansas female governor sebelius. Obama’s primary opponent, New York Senator Hillary Clinton, is unlikely to be his deputy.
Earlier, it was reported that Obama and his running mate will attend a campaign rally in Springfield, Illinois, on the 23rd. This shows that Obama announced that the deputy candidate will not be later than the 23rd.
