As early as the end of last year, as an independent high-end new energy brand under Dongfeng Motor Group, VOYAH Lantu Automobile released the brand’s first model – Lantu Free. The blessing of dual power is comparable to supercars
For cars, the mechanical system is a topic that never goes out of style. Although various intelligent central control systems dazzle consumers, for a car, the core is the mechanical heritage. Frankly speaking, without an excellent power system, no matter how stunning the exterior and interior design are, it can only be evaluated with "nothing but its appearance".
Under the blessing of the front and rear dual motors, the maximum power of the Lantu FREE reaches 510kW, and the peak torque reaches a terrifying 1040 N. m. Even if the car weighs 2.3 tons, with the support of such an exaggerated power system, its acceleration experience can be described as "grumpy". This makes the zero-hundred acceleration of the Lantu FREE extended range version 4.5 seconds, and the zero-hundred acceleration of the pure electric version 4.7 seconds, the acceleration performance can be comparable to that of high-end performance cars.
This was not the best. The engineers of Landmap mentioned that the early test cars could even accelerate 100 kilometers for 3 seconds, but such a "grumpy" acceleration was quite a burden for most people, and it also did not match the positioning of the medium and large SUV of Landmap FREE, so the 100-kilometer acceleration time of Landmap FREE was finally adjusted to 4.5 seconds.
If you run fast, you have to stop. The Lantu FREE’s brakes are equipped with Bosch’s iBooster 2.0 braking system. With Pirelli P-ZERO tires and air suspension support, the Lantu FREE’s braking distance can be shortened to 35.9 meters. In contrast, the ideal ONE is measured at 38.05 meters, the Model Y is 36.00 meters, and the NIO ES6 is 39.23 meters. Facing such a "behemoth" weighing 2.3 tons, this distance is definitely excellent.
In addition, in the piling and elk tests, the overall performance of the Landmap FREE is still biased towards comfort, but due to its chassis setting and the use of air suspension, the entire body is supported very strongly during intense driving. According to official claims, the elk test can reach a speed of 75km/h.
Comfortable and practical enough to be luxurious
However, the overall performance of LANTU FREE is excellent, but in the electric age, performance is no longer the only criterion for measuring whether a new energy vehicle is excellent. When everyone’s performance is not bad, the actual car experience may be the most important factor for consumers to decide whether to buy.
First of all, in terms of space size, the Lantu FREE has a length of 4905mm and a wheelbase of 2960mm, which is already an excellent level in medium and large SUVs. At the same time, the Lantu FREE car uses a large five-seat layout, which optimizes the riding space in the back row and makes the movable space in the back row more abundant.
On the center console, the world’s first liftable triple screen can be said to be the finishing touch of the interior of Landmap Free. The three large screens are connected and integrated, with no gaps in the middle. Ambient lights and aromatherapy scents that can change with the vehicle mode, as well as ultra-high resolution and smooth touch-to-touch, ensure that the occupants in the car feel "comfortable" when interacting with this screen.
When the vehicle starts, the interior triple screen of Lantu FREE will automatically lift and enter the "respect mode". When the owner switches to the "high-energy mode" that pays more attention to performance, the interior triple screen of Lantu FREE will automatically drop, and the fragrance system in the car will also release a more sporty atmosphere.
In addition, compared with the previous sunshade design, the roof of Lantu FREE replaced the entire canopy with an intelligent dimmable panoramic canopy similar to the Boeing 787 porthole, which can actively adjust the light transmittance of the sunroof glass through the car. At the same time, the panoramic canopy comes with more than 99% UV insulation.
Thanks to the support of L2 + intelligent driving auxiliary features, automatic parking is not difficult for LANTU FREE. Whether it is parallel parking, vertical parking or diagonal parking, with the support of 12 ultrasonic radars and 4 surround view cameras, the vehicle does not show any hesitation.
